Report: Sabres Sign Kevin Porter

The Buffalo Sabres have signed free agent Kevin Porter, a six foot, 190 pound center.

He was drafted in the 4th round (119th overall) in 2004. He has played for Phoenix and Colorado prior to coming to Buffalo.

Porter has put up 45 points (25 G, 20 A) in 163 regular season games. His biggest season came in 2010-2011, when he scored 25 points in 74 games.

You may not have heard of his name before, but he beat out Nathan Gerbe for the Hobey Baker Award with 63 points during the 2008 season in Michigan.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
