The news was first reported, as you see above, by Scott Fleishman of WCAX out of Burlington, Vermont.
The official announcement from the Buffalo Sabres regarding Girgensons signing an entry-level contract is expected at some point this afternoon.
Zemgus Girgensons is expected to start the season with Buffalo’s AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.
When asked about Girgensons, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff told the media “He (Girgensons) already has a man body. He’s strong enough to handle the heavy bodies down there.”
