The Sabres originally acquired Pominville with the 55th overall pick in the 2001 Entry Draft.
Pominville tallied 456 points (185 goals, 271 assists) in 578 games with the Sabres. He also served as team captain on two separate occasions (March-April ’08, October ’11 to time of trade).
In exchange for Pominville, the Buffalo Sabres have reportedly acquired prospects G Matt Hackett and F Johan Larsson from the Wild.
