Bob Murray, Anaheim Ducks
Bob Murray was also responsible for putting together a roster that took a team from bottom to top in one season. One season ago, the Anaheim Ducks finished 13th in the Western Conference. They were able to win the Pacific Division in 2012-13, and take second place in the conference. Murray was able to convince savvy veteran Teemu Selanne to come back for another season, and Sheldon Souray to sign with the Ducks, to shore up the blue line. He also was able to find a diamond-in-the-rough with goaltender Viktor Fasth, who spelled Jonas Hiller, and helped the Ducks produce a formative 1-2 punch in net. LikelyMurray’s biggest, and most important, accomplishment this season was securing the future of the franchise in resigning captain Ryan Getzlaf and former Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry to eight-year contract extensions.
