Sabres set for Traverse City

On Tuesday afternoon, the Buffalo Sabres officially announced their roster for the 2013 NHL Prospect Tournament.

The tournament will be held in Traverse City, Michigan from September 5 – 9.

Joining the Sabres in Traverse City will be the Detroit Red Wings, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers.

Buffalo will send six first-round picks to the tournament, in hopes of repeating as champions. You may recall that the 2012 NHL Prospect Tournament was cancelled due to the ongoing lockout.

The Sabres will compete in a round robin format with games on 9/5 vs. Columbus, 9/6 vs. New York, and 9/8 vs. Carolina in the Ted Lindsay Division. The 1st seed of this division will play the 1st seed in the Gordie Howe Division in the championship game on 9/9.
