Sabres re-sign Hodgson

The most anticipated news of the offseason has finally come across the wire.

In a Vine, provided by the Buffalo Sabres, restricted free agent Cody Hodgson confirms that he has signed a six-year contract extension to remain with the franchise.

Hodgson, 23 years old, has played 68 games with the Sabres. In those games, Hodgson has recorded 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists).

It is assumed that Hodgson will continue to be developed as the franchise’s number one center.

“We are extremely excited to have signed Cody to a long-term deal,” said Sabres GM Darcy Regier. “We feel he is going to be an important piece of our organization’s success in the future and look forward to watching him develop as a player.”

Financial details were not made available at the announcement of the signing.
