After getting their first regulation win of the season, the Sabres are in Tampa Bay tonight to take on the Lightning.
Buffalo is fresh off a win against the Panthers despite being outshot by a 45-21 margin. Jhonas Enroth came up big, and it has not been decided whether he or Ryan Miller will get the start tonight.
“We really needed that win,” Ristolainen said. “Hopefully now we can keep going and take another [one] tomorrow.”
Buffalo and Tampa Bay have already met earlier this season. This is the second of four meetings. The Lightning were in Buffalo and won on Alex Killorn’s overtime goal. Buffalo seeks revenge at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
The Sabres have been outscored 15-1 in the first period this season, a big reason of why they have struggled.
Of course, Steven Stamkos is a player to watch for in tonight’s game. Stamkos has seven goals and five assists over his past six games. In 20 career games, Stamkos has recorded eight goals and 10 assists in 20 meetings against the Sabres.
Ville Leino may return to the lineup tonight, along with Hank Tallinder.
“I’m just excited to go back out there and play hockey. I love playing hockey, so for me it’s just going to be fun to go out there and play, and that’s always when I play the best, too.”-Ville Leino
Mike Weber is going to miss a good chunk of time with a thumb injury. He could go on the injured reserve, creating room for Leino to come back.
Tonight’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen on MSG. Following this game, the Sabres will host Lindy Ruff and the Dallas Stars.
