Eastern Conference outlook

The night has finally come, it is opening night of the NHL season! While the Sabres have one more night to get ready for the Columbus Blue Jackets at the First Niagara Center, eight teams will open the season tonight.

This season is expected to be an exciting season full of many questions. Can the Los Angeles Kings repeat as Stanley Cup Champions with almost the same team as they had in June? Can another team in the Western Conference surprise the Kings or Chicago Blackhawks? Who will win the highly-talented Central Division? Who will come out on top in the East? Which team will have the best chance at drafting Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel come June?

The Sabres Hockey Central panel, including myself, have had their discussion about where they think the Sabres finish and how well the team will improve compared to their dismal 2013-14 season. Now here is my extended discussion on how the rest of the conference will pan out for the season, and where the Sabres will finish compared to other teams in the East.
