December in Review

dec in review
Main storyline: Things seemed to almost even out in the month, something the Buffalo Sabres had not seen all season. While the Sabres overall record is not greatly improved, they finish the month of December with a 6-7-1 record.

December performance: After 14 games in the month of December, the Buffalo Sabres end with a record of 14-21-3. That aforementioned record gives Buffalo 31 points.

Where they stand: Buffalo is in 8th place, in the Atlantic. Buffalo finds themselves 15th in the Eastern Conference and 28th in the league, ahead of only Carolina and Edmonton. Buffalo also currently sports a -52 goal differential, highest in the National Hockey League. The Sabres have also scored a second-worst 76 goals.

Conclusion: The calendar has turned to 2015, and things start off quick for the Buffalo Sabres. The month of January sees Buffalo playing 12 times. By the end of the first month in the New Year, we should have a better understanding of where this hockey team will stand – can they continue to slowly turn the corner, or will they relegate back to being one of the worst teams in hockey?
