Sabres sign Cody Franson

The Sabres have announced that they have signed Cody Franson to a two-year deal. Franson was a 3rd round (79th overall) selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by Nashville.

The 28-year-old defenseman has 400 games of NHL experience and averages around 25 points per season. Franson has had two stints with the Predators and has played for the Maple Leafs for four seasons.

Franson will likely be a top-4 defenseman on a team that has made a lot of changes over this past summer.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
