Buffalo Sabres forward Nicolas Deslauriers will miss about a month due to a lower body injury suffered in the 4-3 loss to Detroit on Saturday.
Deslauriers has three goals and seven assists in 38 games with the Sabres this season.
The Sabres have already called up Tim Schaller from Rochester, who had a stint with the team earlier this season. In six games, Schaller has two assists, but will likely get a larger opportunity due to the extent of Deslauriers’ injury.
