Bailey to make NHL debut

Bailey

The Sabres have recalled forward Justin Bailey from Rochester. The 20-year-old hometown kid is expected to make his NHL debut Thursday night against Philadelphia.

Bailey has put up 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 47 games with the Amerks this season. He was selected in the 2013 draft in the 2nd round (52nd overall).

Scouting report from Elite Prospects:

“Bailey owns one of the best shots in the entire draft class, and has incredible athleticism and skating ability; looks like a linebacker on ice but has great hands. Injuries slowed him some this year and doesn’t play as big as people want him to be, but still competes and puts forth an honest effort each shift.”

He’ll be looking for his first NHL goal, along with Dan Catenacci, who has been with the team for the past couple of games.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
