Sabres recall Cal O’Reilly

Cal

With yesterday’s news that Ryan O’Reilly will likely miss 3-4 weeks, the Sabres made a roster move. They called up his brother, Cal, from Rochester.

Cal has one assist in five NHL games this season, but has made a big impact with the Americans so far.In 44 games, he has put up six goals and 22 assists.

He has a chance to stay with the team for awhile, and could very well record his first NHL goal. Cal will play in Buffalo’s next game, which is Wednesday in Anaheim. The Sabres will embark on a three game trip to the West coast, with each starting later than 10 p.m. EST.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
