The Buffalo Sabres have traded Mike Weber to the Washington Captials in exchange for a 2017 3rd round pick.

Weber has never played for a different team. He was selected by the Sabres in the 2006 draft (2nd round, 57th overall). He’s played in 341 games for Buffalo, recording 53 points (nine goals, 44 assists).

The Sabres retain half of Mike Weber’s $1.67M cap hit

With the move, the Sabres now have 20 picks in the next two drafts.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
