Sabres sign Nelson to entry-level contract

Nelson

The Sabres have announced that the team has signed defenseman Casey Nelson to an entry-level contract.

Nelson stands at 6’2″, 182 pounds and has been playing for Minnesota State University.

“We’ve been consistently impressed with Casey’s play for the last two years,” General Manager Tim Murray said. “We identified him as one of the top college free agents available and we’re excited to have him join the organization.”

Nelson is one of the top college free agents on the market and he could see NHL time sooner rather than later.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
