Sabres on deadline for RFA offers

ristolainen

The Buffalo Sabres, along with the other 29 teams, have until 5 p.m. EST to make qualifying offers to their restricted free agents. If they are not made by then, those players will become unrestricted free agents.

For the Sabres, they have a total of 13 players, but not all have been at the NHL level. Most notably, Marcus Foligno, Rasmus Ristolainen and Zemgus Girgensons are on this list.

In addition there are these players:
Jake McCabe
Casey Nelson
Dan Catenacci
Alexander Guptill
Colin Jacobs
Jason Kasdorf
Nathan Lieuwen
Andrey Makarov
Jack Nevins

Makarov has already signed with another league, so he’s out of the question. Tim Murray and the Sabres have some decisions to make and we’ll keep you updated with who receives an offer throughout the day.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
