Rumors are swirling as the Pegula jet made another trip into Massachusetts on Wednesday afternoon, but just a quick one.
The jet is expected to land around 12:45 p.m. EST, but heads back to Buffalo around 1:10 p.m. and arrives shortly after 2 p.m.
What could it mean?
Could the Sabres be picking Jimmy Vesey up from Bedford, MA? After the Sabres met with him last week, all reports were that it went very well, but Vesey said he was still going to test the free agent market regardless.
Dan Bylsma told NHL.com’s Dan Rosen that Vesey would get top-six minutes if he were to sign with Buffalo”
“First and foremost, he’s got the opportunity to play a top-six role with our team. He’s got the opportunity to play in a top-six role with a centerman like Jack or Ryan possibly, depending on how that would play out. We can surround him with Jack and Sam, but even our veteran players are young players like Ryan O’Reilly, Evander Kane, now Kyle Okposo. He’s got a chance to grow with that group and be a great team. I think that’s the best opportunity for him in the (NHL.)”
We’re calling this “The Vesey Express,” but this trip could mean nothing at all or may not even be for Vesey, but it is a little odd that they’re schedule to be in MA for not even an hour. While nothing may come out of it, it’s a sign of hope and encouragement that perhaps the Sabres can persuade Vesey to sign those papers.
