Buffalo Sabres’ center Ryan O’Reilly has been officially added to Team Canada’s World Cup of Hockey roster, making him the fourth Buffalo Sabres player to participate in the tournament.
O’Reilly will be replacing Dallas Stars‘ forward Tyler Seguin, who will be unable to participate in the tournament due to a knee injury.
The Clinton, Ontario native is a veteran when it comes to international play, as he has been representing Canada on the international stage since 2008. O’Reilly has won gold medals in both the 2015 and 2016 IIHF World Championships as a member of Team Canada.
O’Reilly had a breakout season in his first year with the Sabres, leading the team with 60 points in 71 games in the 2015-16 season.
