Sabres send down 17 players

Bailey

The Buffalo Sabres have cut down their roster to 33, releasing 17 players and sending them down to Rochester.

That list includes:

Justin Bailey
Nicholas Baptiste
William Carrier
Daniel Catenacci
Eric Cornel
Jean Dupuy
Vaclav Karabacek
Justin Kea
Evan Rodrigues
Brady Austin
Brycen Martin
Jason Kasdorf
Matthew Lane
Daniel Muzito-Bagenda
Mac Bennett
Paul Geiger
John Muse

“They’ve been sent with the message don’t hang your head here. There’s going to be opportunity, and it could be coming shortly.” – Dan Bylsma

With these cuts, it’s evident that Derek Grant has beat out Justin Bailey, among others, for a roster spot.

There are three preseason games remaining before the regular season begins on October 13 for Buffalo when they host the Montreal Canadiens.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
