Sabres injury update

Okposo

We’re going to keep this page running as there are few injured players. Here’s an update on each of them:

Kyle Okposo – He took a shot to the knee in Monday’s practice and has to be examined. Head coach Dan Bylsma said Okposo is questionable for the next two games.

Robin Lehner – After suffering a forearm contusion and sitting out of Friday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Lehner is practicing with the team. He said that if it were a regular season game, he would have played. Expect Lehner to be ready to go for his next start.

Dmitry Kulikov – The injury to Kulikov could’ve been worse after slamming into the partition of the Leafs’ bench due to the door being unlocked. Head coach Dan Bylsma said Kulikov has a bruised “butt bone” and will likely not make the trip for the game vs. Carolina on Tuesday.

Zach Bogosian – Has a pulled groin and will not play at all this week. He should be ready to go for the season opener on October 13th.

Tyson Strachan – He is out with a sprained ankle for the Rochester Americans.

Taylor Fedun – Joined the Sabres in practice on Saturday after recovering from a fractured foot.

None of these injuries appear to be serious, but we’ll keep you updated as the regular season nears.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
