Lehner, Eichel shaken up at practice

The Sabres took the ice for a practice session at the KeyBank Center on Sunday morning.

With their preseason schedule complete, all that’s left are practices and team scrimmages. However, this morning, two of the team’s key players were shaken up.

Jack Eichel was tripped up on a breakaway and slid face first into the goal post. He got up and resumed practicing and doing drills, but it was evident that Eichel felt it.

Robin Lehner took a shot that caused him to go down and drop to the ice for a moment. He, too, was able to recover and resume practice.

Dmitry Kulikov, Ryan O’Reilly, Kyle Okposo and Zach Bogosian were not on the ice for practice, but they did skate.

The first game is Thursday vs. Montreal. We’ll keep you posted throughout the week of any injuries, as well as the team’s final roster moves.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
