Nelson, Fasching and Baptiste head to Rochester

Fasching

With their next game on Tuesday, the Sabres have sent defenseman Casey Nelson and forwards Hudson Fasching and Nicholas Baptiste to Rochester for some game action.

The Amerks have back-to-back games Friday and Saturday, so the three players should get some much-needed ice time, especially Nelson who has been a healthy scratch the last three games. Fasching has been a healthy scratch the last two games while Baptiste played.

The Sabres have Saturday off, but return to the ice on Sunday morning for practice. There’s a good chance Nelson and one of the forwards will rejoin the team before they leave to face the Flyers Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

I've been a Sabres fan since my first game in the Aud in '76 against the Habs. I sat in the lower golds for that game and though I've been to close to 400 games, I've never sat as close as I did that night.
