As expected, the Sabres have recalled forward Hudson Fasching and defenseman Casey Nelson from the Rochester Americans.
After Buffalo’s 2-1 loss in Vancouver Thursday night, the team had sent Fasching and Nelson down to Rochester to get some ice time. They both played in games Friday and Saturday night for the Amerks.
“I’m glad we could just put some minutes in there,” Nelson said. “When you don’t play for a while you kind of get out of it a little bit, so it was nice to get back in there.”
The Sabres’ next game is on Tuesday, October 25th against Philadelphia. Both players are expected to be in the lineup.
Although neither player has been able to get on the board for Buffalo this season, Fasching and Nelson played well during their short stint in Rochester, each recording a goal in their AHL season debuts.
