Remember when Buffalo Sabres defensemen pitched in every now and then with a goal?
Take a minute… it’s been awhile. After all, through 14 games this year, their blue line is scoreless.
Alas, there’s hope. Check out Sabres prospect Brendan Guhle, playing for the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL, go coast to coast with some speed and then light the lamp with a nice backhand.
The 19-year-old left shot defenseman was drafted in the second round (#51 overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He played six games for the Amerks last year, scoring a goal and three assists. Maybe we’ll see Guhle up in Buffalo sooner rather than later.
