Guhle gets the call

Guhle

The Buffalo Sabres announced that they have called up defenseman Brendan Guhle from the Prince George Cougars of the WHL.

The callup is considered an emergency basis as it looks like Josh Gorges will miss Saturday’s game against the Boston Bruins. Gorges was hurt blocking a shot in Thursday’s game. He had an X-ray taken after the game and will have further testing.

“At this point, we kind of just wait and see the results of the next test,” said Bylsma.

This will be the first time Guhle appears in a Sabres uniform for a regular season game. He was Buffalo’s 2nd round (51st overall) selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.  The 6’1”, 186 lbs. defenseman plays a fast, physical style and is not afraid to join the rush.
