Bogosian playing tonight

The Sabres are getting some more help on the blue line as defenseman Zach Bogosian will return to the lineup for tonight’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Bogosian has played nine games for the Sabres, posting a rating of -2 and six penalty minutes. He’s been recovering from an MCL sprain he suffered that caused him to miss 20 games.

The move was anticipated as the Sabres have already sent Taylor Fedun down to Rochester, who did a great job during his eight-game stint.

Head coach Dan Bylsma said that Justin Falk will sit out tonight’s game.

With Bogosian back, Buffalo is nearing complete health after they’ve racked up 154 man games lost this season.

They’re only missing Tyler Ennis, who isn’t expected to return for another month, and Cody McCormick, who has officially retired, but will remain on the active roster and payroll for this season.

Anders Nilsson will get the start in goal tonight as the Sabres look for another win. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
