Nelson called up

The Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman Casey Nelson from the Rochester Americans. A move was expected after Jake McCabe crashed into the boards on Friday night.

This will be Nelson’s second stint with the team this season. He previously played eight games with the Sabres earlier in the year, but did not record any points.

With the Americans, Nelson has nine points (four goals, five assists) in 27 games.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
