The Buffalo Sabres have claimed forward Derek Grant off waivers Monday afternoon.
Grant has played 35 games for Buffalo this season. The Nashville Predators claimed him and he played six games for them, but he’s been a healthy scratch for a few games.
The Sabres are in need of a center for the fourth line, and Grant could be right there. His production has yet to be seen, but the preseason phenom may have another coming his way soon.
For now, the team has sent him to the Rochester Americans.
He’s played 81 NHL games and has recorded seven assists.
