Sabres recall Austin, Nelson

After Cody Franson and Taylor Fedun were both injured during Friday’s game, it was expected over the past day or two that they may not be ready for tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Brady Austin and Casey Nelson are both up and will likely be in the lineup. Austin could make his NHL debut tonight. He has two goals and seven assists in 61 games for the Rochester Americans this season, with a -10 rating.

Nelson has played nine games for Buffalo this season, and is a -4 with zero points.

The Sabres and Red Wings will play on NBCSN tonight with a puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
