Sabres to play Canadiens in home opener

The Sabres home opener for the 2017-18 season is scheduled for Thursday, October 5 against the Montreal Canadiens. Buffalo will play against the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center on Saturday, October 7.

Buffalo opened the season against Montreal last year as well, but lost 4-1.

The entire regular season schedule will be released on Thursday at 3 p.m.
