The Buffalo Sabres have made a trade to acquire defenseman Marco Scandella and forward Jason Pominville from the Minnesota Wild. The Sabres are giving up Tyler Ennis and Marcus Foligno in the deal. The Sabres also send a third-round pick to Minnesota in exchange for a fourth round pick.
Scandella is a 27-year-old left-handed defenseman who has played for the Wild his whole career so far. Drafted 55th overall in 2008, Scandella will be an immediate help to the Sabres blue line.

Scandella has a cap hit of $4M for the next three seasons. Pominville is at $5.6M for each of the next two.
At age 34, Pominville isn’t the player he used to be, but a smart, skilled veteran that will be able to help the offense.
“I love the direction the team is heading. … I’m glad to be part of the team again.”
Pominville said his son is already wearing his #Sabres jersey. Never thought about possibility, but excited to be back.
