Sabres sign Girgensons

The Sabres announced today that they have signed forward Zemgus Girgensons to a two-year deal worth $1.6M per year.

Girgensons is coming off a season in which he scored 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 75 games. Throughout his four-year career, he has hit 30 points as his max.

The 23-year-old forward still has potential, and perhaps with the new coaching changes, the best could still be yet to come.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
