Eichel, Sabres eager to get started

The hockey season is a few weeks away and the first preseason game is on Monday. The Sabres training camps is open and players had press conferences today and gave fans many positive feelings about what to expect this season.

While many are looking to make that big push toward the postseason, Jack Eichel said he plans on lighting it up this year:

“I have a lot to prove. Actually, I think I’ve proven nothing. It’s a huge year for me personally and as a team. We want to obviously take the next step as a team, and I think for us to do that we need some guys to take the next step as players, and I need to be one of them.” – Eichel

“You’ve got to be a playoff team, and it starts now. That’s the ultimate goal. You want to be there at the end of the year. You want to be playing in the postseason. I think this city, this team, this organization is starved for it.” – Eichel

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
