Baptiste, Ullmark sent down to Rochester

With just one preseason to go, many prospects still have a shot to prove themselves before the Sabres trim the roster. However, on Thursday, the Sabres sent forward Nicholas Baptiste and goaltender Linus Ullmark down to the Amerks.

Baptiste recorded 41 points (25 goals, 16 assists) in 59 games with Rochester last season. He also played 14 games for Buffalo, picking up three goals and an assist.

Ullmark played 55 games for Rochester last season recording a 2.87 GAA and .909 save percentage. He played just one game for the Sabres.

The moves bring Buffalo to 31 players, meaning they’ll need to make eight more cuts by the opener next Thursday.

Here is what the Training Camp roster looks like now:

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
