Sabres ink Eichel to 8-year extension

The Sabres have signed Jack Eichel to an eight-year deal with an AAV of $10 million. Following an offseason of negotiation and speculation, it has been confirmed that Eichel will wear blue and gold for years to come.

The Sabres anticipated a heavy price for their face of the franchise, but it didn’t matter. Along with the signing, Buffalo is expected to name Eichel as captain, just two days before the opener.

Sabres’ fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief heading into a season with high expectations for both the team, and Eichel himself.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
