Redmond called up

The Buffalo Sabres have called up defenseman Zach Redmond from Rochester.

After Nathan Beaulieu left Friday’s game against Vancouver with an injury, the team needed more help on the blue line. Taylor Fedun was also recently recalled, but was a healthy scratch on Friday. He’ll likely find his way into the lineup Saturday night against Boston.

The Sabres acquired Redmond from Montreal in a trade for Nicolas Deslauriers. Redmond has 130 games of NHL experience spanning across three teams – Winnipeg, Colorado, Montreal.

Redmond has recorded nine goals and 29 assists, including eight power play points. This year for Rochester, the defenseman has played four games and is tied for the team lead with three points (1 goal, 2 assists).

We’ll see if he makes his Sabres debut in the near future.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
