The Sabres posted an impressive 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday, but the bigger concern is on the status of Jack Eichel.
The Sabres announced today that Eichel has a severe high ankle sprain and will be out indefinitely.

Eichel’s former teammate at Boston University, Matt Grzelcyk, appeared to push Eichel’s skate with his stick, causing the awkward collision.
While Eichel was already in a vulnerable position and potentially falling on his own, Grzelcyk’s stick made it worse.

Eichel has recorded 53 points (22 goals, 31 assists) in 55 games this season. He missed 21 games last season with the same injury, although the severity of each may be a little different.
