Sabres head to Carolina

⏰ 7:30 p.m.   ? MSG   ? WGR550

The Buffalo Sabres will head into the storm of the Carolina Hurricanes tonight for their first of three meetings this season. This will also be Jeff Skinner’s first game against his former team.

Season series:

Despite Carolina’s position outside of the playoffs as of now, they will be a tough test for the Buffalo Sabres as they have won five of their last six games. The Sabres also went winless last season against Carolina with a record of 0-2-1.

Buffalo notes:

After a scoring breakout in Tuesday night’s game against the New Jersey Devils, the Sabres hope to add to that as they could potentially get their franchise centerman back from injury. Jack Eichel has missed three games from an upper-body injury that was sustained on New Year’s Eve. If he returns, look for him to make a huge impact. The Sabres look to pick up their 3rd win in 2019 with a 2-1-0 record already.

Carolina notes:

After a five-game winning streak, Carolina fell to the top dog in the league, the Tampa Bay Lightning. Carolina will look to their top producers in Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen to help them get back in the win column.

For the Hurricanes, they hope to close the gap between them and the playoff bubble as they only sit seven points back of the last Wild Card spot, which is currently occupied by Buffalo.
