Skinner is an All-Star

Jack Eichel will no longer be the lone representative at this year’s All-Star game.

The NHL’s second-leading goal scorer, Jeff Skinner, has been voted in by fans!

Skinner 42 points (29 goals, 13 assists) in 43 games this season. He beat out Toronto’s Morgan Rielly, Tampa Bay’s Brayden Point, Boston’s Patrice Bergeron, Detroit’s Dylan Larkin, Florida’s Aleksander Barkov, Montreal’s Shea Weber, and Ottawa’s Mark Stone for the final Atlantic Division representative.

The Skills Competition will take place on Friday, January 25th at 9 p.m. More details on these events and participants will come later.

The All-Star game will be the next night at 8 p.m. in San Jose.

Congratulations to Skinner and thank you to all the fans for voting for him.

    Joseph Story

Having a player from every team is a wonderful feel good story, but I don't think the league's second goal scorer should have to fall back on a vote to receive the honor. I am happy Skinner made it, but I just do not think it should of had to come to a fan vote for it to happen.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
