Sabres trade Beaulieu to Winnipeg

The Sabres made a trade with the Jets, sending defenseman Nathan Beaulieu to Winnipeg.

Beaulieu expressed his frustrations with his lack of playing time a few weeks ago. The Sabres have a log jam of defenseman and this helps clear part of that.

Earlier today, Beaulieu did say he wanted to remain with the Sabres.

“I can’t wait for this day to be over.” -Beaulieu

Beaulieu played two seasons for Buffalo after the Sabres acquired him for a third-round pick. He recorded 16 points in 89 games.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
