Pronounced “joh-kee-HARH-yoo”, the 6’0″ 190 pound defenseman was selected by the Blackhawks 29th overall in the 2017 draft. He put up 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists) in 30 games at the AHL level last season and 12 assists in 38 games at the NHL level.

The #Blackhawks just traded a promising, puck-moving, plus-possession 20-year-old Dman for a guy who's scored 30 goals in 165 AHL games.

Nylander was Buffalo’s eighth overall pick in 2016 and has only been up for 19 NHL games so far, recording three goals and three assists in 19 games.

The Sabres continue to stock up on defenseman, and you just have to wonder when Rasmus Ristolainen will be dealt. It is becoming more and more likely.
Buffalo has re-shaped their right side for the future with Brandon Montour, Colin Miller and Henri Jokiharju – all in a short period of time. Well done Jason Botterill.
Saying that, you have to REALLY wonder what jersey Rasmus Ristolainen will be wearing in 2020. #Sabres

#Sabres trade Alex Nylander to #Blackhawks for Henri Jokiharju
I love this deal for Buffalo – Jokiharju looked like a real star-in-the-making last year from my eyes.
Nylander gets a fresh start and Chicago had a large D pool to trade from.
