Buffalo quieted in Columbus

In their second preseason game, the Sabres mustered just one goal in a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. Jake McCabe scored the lone goal in a 4-1 defeat. The Sabres pulled the goaltender in the final minutes, but the Blue Jackets sealed it with an empty-netter.

Linus Ullmark was strong in goal, stopping 19 0f 20 shots before giving way to Andrew Hammond, who stopped 13 of 15.

The Sabres have a few days off before a home and home set with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday and Saturday. We’re giving away a pair of tickets to Saturday’s game, courtesy of Backyard Buffalo.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
