Borgen recalled from Rochester

The Sabres had a couple of players leave Thursday’s game against the New York Rangers due to injury.

Jimmy Vesey and Marco Scandella both were unable to return to the game, and Borgen’s call-up says that at least one of those two players won’t be able to play tonight against Detroit.

Evan Rodrigues and John Gilmour have been with the team, but both have been healthy scratches for the majority of the season.

Borgen played four games in Buffalo last season and was a -5 with two shots on goal. In seven games with the Amerks this season, Borgen 27 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. We’ll see if Ralph Krueger starts him or Gilmour tonight in place of Scandella.

I founded Buffalo Hockey Central in 2008 and have poured hours and hours into this site. Luckily, we have a great team of writers and designers who have helped keep this up and running despite a ton of out-of-pocket costs. We do this because we enjoy it, and we're desperate to see the Sabres win the Cup someday, but they have to make the playoffs first.
