There were some great options for the Sabres at No. 8 and they elected to go get arguably the draft’s best pure goal scorer in Jack Quinn.
It’s that simple. The organization needs a goal-scorer, and they got one. Marco Rossi and Cole Perfetti were both available and could have helped put up more points, but Kevyn Adams wanted the guy who could score.
The Buffalo Sabres draft Jack Quinn with the 8th pick. Possibly the best goal scorer in the draft, Quinn ranked 2nd in goals in the OHL last season with 52. Quinn gets to the quality scoring areas on the ice and has the finishing ability to be a productive NHL scorer. #Sabres pic.twitter.com/ZyyJq1OaRA

52 Goals in 62 games. Late bloomer into a star in the OHL. I’m not in love but 2nd in the league I’m goals is nothing to scoff at. He just turned 19 and hopefully can develop into a 30-40 goal guy next to Cozens! Welcome to the team Jack Quinn, prove Sabres Twitter wrong! pic.twitter.com/OLHRREn02I
