The Buffalo Sabres head to Pittsburgh tonight to take on the Penguins, in search of their third victory in this young season.
The Sabres were in action last night at the First Niagara Center against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Buffalo was able to keep the game close throughout the entire evening until Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner scored the go-ahead goal with a little over a minute left in the third period.
This evening in Pittsburgh, Lindy Ruff will turn to Jhonas Enroth for his first start of the season. The Sabres will also be without Jochen Hecht, who has a concussion. Matt Ellis and Mike Weber will continue to be the two healthy scratches.
The Penguins were last in action on Thursday night against the Washington Capitals. The Penguins were losers in that game, 3-2 in overtime. The big news out of Pittsburgh for this game is that forward Evgeni Malkin will not play with what is being called a “lower-body injury.”
Sidney Crosby continues to not play for the Penguins as he recovers from a concussion suffered in January. Brooks Orpik will also not play this evening as he continues to recover from sports hernia surgery.
The puck drops at 7 PM from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The game will also be broadcast live on MSG.
