The #Sabres have signed free agent defenseman Chad Ruhwedel (UMass-Lowell) to a two-year entry-level contract.

Ruhwedel, a 22 year old defenseman, just completed his junior season at the University of UMass-Lowell.
Following elimination from this year’s Frozen Four, Ruhwedel announced his decision to forego his senior season of eligibility to become a professional hockey player.
The entry-level deal is rumored to be two-years in length.
It is expected that Ruhwedel will replace Tyler Myers and make his NHL debut this afternoon when the Sabres host the Flyers.
This move allows the Sabres to keep the current defensive parings in Rochester together for the team’s upcoming playoff run.
