Do You Approve?

I agree that we need some vets as much as we need young guys. last night against the rangers they just looked lost. they had no idea how to make a play, or how to step up, they just looked clueless. that's not the fault of the young guys. a coach should prepare them to teach them how to play at a professional level. the change from AHL to NHL is a huge thing. Rolston is a great teacher, I don't personally believe that he's a great coach at that level. He's done wonders for the Amerks. Every player on our team is too slow, too weak, too timid, or too sloppy. that's all stuff that can be changed with proper coaching, or proper mentoring. i have a hard time believing that our current older guys can help mentor the kids, because most of them are too busy trying to work on their own game as it is. If clearing house is the decision, which it clearly is, then they need to do it. They've systematically turned from bad to far worse since lindy was let go. pom got traded, gerbe dropped, vanek traded, etc. we turned into a rebuilding team before we needed to rebuild. if we could have just picked up even one big name forward, maybe one big name defender, it would have changed the entire team for the better. but we committed roster suicide, and just hit the restart button on a potentially great team. at this point, darcy needs to go, rolston needs to go, and we need to cut the dead weight from the team. Myers, Stafford, Leino, all examples of players that aren't necessarily terrible players by any means, but they definitely aren't playing at the NHL caliber, and getting rid of them could alleviate cap room, and show the Sabres that if they can't perform at a professional level with our team, then it won't be tolerated. Draft picks will only help so much when they go straight into the NHL without any AHL experience, with sub-par coaching and mentoring. Cut our losses and build on our strengths. switching lines every drive won't build player chemistry, it'll just add to more confusion for the young guys. they need consistency and stability for them to find their own game. Rolston and Darcy aren't providing any of those things. I will continue to support Buffalo and it's great hockey team, but I don't support a management team that neglects and basically in the face of it's fans. I'll continue to watch every game and shudder at each shitty play, until the proper moves are finally made and our team turns itself around to NHL caliber hockey. I have faith in our future, just not in our management.

They aren't the ones playing it's not their fault the team isn't performing. Right now they are doing the best they can. We need to rebuild yes however there has to be a better way. We need veteran players as well as new players coming into the nhl I just think they need to review the thought of rebuilding and see where it took them.. and how we got here... we have to realize yes the coaches because you can replace a coach only so many times until you realize it's the team..... no I don't like the coaching staff right now but can we pull together and support our team

Dang. Looks like "Fire Rolston" is more unanimous than "Fire Darcy". That's tough to do.

This will be a 2-3 year process and will not be fun for any Sabres fans, as a season ticket holder for many years this is by far the worst season, this team has nothing right now and what even makes it worse is the cost of everything goes up!! $4.75 for a bottle of pop? $5.50 for a slice of pizza! Really.....if we as fans want to send a message to this organization we all need to stop buying everything from food at the arena and Sabres merchandise, I am a HUGU fan and watch every game no matter how bad they are and I go to 30-35 games a season but the taking advantage of us loyal fans needs to stop, giving us 40% off stuff at the Sabres store is not the answer, considering 40% off is still a great profit for the team.
