This past week could be looked back upon as one of the biggest in franchise history. The Sabres won their first home game of the season, but that was not the main story. Following that victory, Owner Terry Pegula decided it was time to clean house. Pegula fired General Manager Darcy Regier and Head Coach Ron Rolston, while hiring Pat LaFontaine and Ted Nolan. The Sabres would win their next game, giving them 2 victories out of 3 games played this week.
After seven weeks of hockey, the Sabres have 11 points (5-16-1). They are 8th in the Atlantic Division and 16th in the Eastern Conference. Buffalo is also sporting a -27 goal differential, 29th in the league.

People keep asking me today "So you have a new boss?" No, I'm still with my wife.
