Lindy Ruff confirmed that Tim Connolly will miss the rest of the regular season. His status for any part of the playoffs is unknown, but the Sabres will be without him for the final three games.
Ruff hopes to get Vanek back by this weekend. Vanek has been skating better and is almost ready to get back in the action. The Sabres are in Ottawa on Saturday and New Jersey on Sunday. Look for Vanek to be back in time for one or both of those games.
Patrick Lalime, who was supposed to get a start or two, now has the flu. Ryan Miller was scheduled to get some rest by having some games off, but that may change. Jhonas Enroth would be an option, but he has a severe ankle sprain.
The Sabres will host “party in the plaza” for all home playoff games again this year. The admission is free of charge, and a ticket is not needed to enter. This year they will add a 40′ by 120′ tent, that will allow for parties regardless of the weather.
“Section 400” will open two hours before game time and will remain open after the game as well. Fans will be able to purchase drinks and watch the post game show on the big screen.
