The Buffalo Sabres entered the 14th week of hockey, on somewhat of a hot streak with gaining points in 6 of their last 7 games. Unfortunately, that streak would come to a screeching halt, as the calendar turned to 2014.
Week 14 began in Winnipeg, on New Year’s Eve, and would continue in Minnesota. Many expected competitive match ups, and a strong performances by Buffalo. The Sabres would end up getting shutout in Winnipeg, and getting dominated in Minnesota.
Fortunately, the Sabres would end the week on a high note. In their first home game of 2014, the Sabres were able to grind their way to a victory over New Jersey. Buffalo ends the week boasting a 5-game home winning streak.
Heading into Week 15, the Buffalo Sabres have a 12-26-4 record with 28 points. This currently has Buffalo in 8th place in the Atlantic Division, and 16th in the Eastern Conference. The Sabres also have a league-worst -44 goal differential.
